Terms of Service
Effective July 27, 2026
The service
Transcriptube provides tools for fetching publicly available YouTube caption tracks, converting subtitle files, and processing transcripts with AI — summaries, questions about a video and moment search, which run on the site itself. A JSON API and an optional Telegram bot cover programmatic access and extras such as translation and PDF export. Reading transcripts is free within published limits, and paid plans are described on the pricing page; we may throttle abusive traffic to keep the service available for everyone.
Accounts and data
An account is optional and exists only for paid plans: it is created at checkout from the email you pay with, and you sign in through a single-use link sent to that address. Caption tracks we fetch are cached on our side, keyed by the YouTube video ID, so a video is not fetched twice.
While you are signed in, the AI summaries you generate are saved to your account so you can read them again from My videos without paying twice for the same work. You can delete any of them from that page, and they are all deleted with the account. Summaries generated without an account are not stored, and the text of your questions and searches is not stored at all. What we keep, why, and how to have it deleted is set out in full in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Use the tools for lawful purposes only. Do not attempt to overwhelm the service, resell raw access to it without an agreement, or use it to infringe the rights of content creators. Transcripts and captions belong to the creators of the videos they come from; you are responsible for how you use the text you obtain.
No affiliation
Transcriptube is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
No warranty
The service is provided as is. Caption tracks are produced by video creators or by YouTube's automatic systems, and we make no promises about their accuracy or availability. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transcriptube is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim, which for free tools is zero.
Credits, API and bot
Paid plans are billed monthly and grant a monthly allowance of credits. Credits are consumed per job, priced by the length of the video, taken only after the job succeeds, and not redeemable for cash except where the law requires it. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month. API keys are personal and may be revoked for abuse; the same applies to bot credits.
