Frequently asked questions

How do credits work?

One credit is about one minute of summarised audio, so a twenty-minute video costs roughly twenty credits to summarise. A transcript costs less than a summary. A video with no captions has to be listened to rather than read — that is speech recognition, and it costs more. You never have to work any of this out yourself: the price of a run is shown before you start it, next to what you have left.

How do subscriptions work?

A subscription is billed either through the App Store, if you subscribed in the iOS app, or on the web, if you subscribed here. Either way you can manage or cancel it at any time, wherever you bought it, and it runs until the end of the period you have paid for. The web and the app share one account, so a plan bought in one of them works in the other.

I subscribed on the web — how do I use the app?

Open the app and go to the plans screen. Under the plans is a “Sign in” link — sign in there with the email address you paid with, and the app picks up the plan you already have. Signing in also attaches an App Store purchase you made before you had an account, so there is nothing to buy or restore a second time.

How do refunds work?

A purchase made in the app is a purchase from Apple, and Apple refunds it: ask for it from your purchase history in the App Store. A purchase made on the web is ours to refund — write to us and say which charge it was, and we will take it from there.
